We See Problems. God has Answers.

When you have challenges in your life that seem impossible to overcome, do you approach God with the problems or do you call upon him for the answers?

You see, when you approach God asking his help with your problems, you are working from your perspective, one of lack, of impossibility, and not from God's perspective, one of completeness, of possibility.

This doesn't mean you should pray to God for help, sit back, fold your arms, and wait for him to handle things.

He provided each of us a unique set of talents, abilities, gifts, and experiences that we can use, coupled with his guidance and intercession, to address the challenges we face.

An Algebra Lesson

I had an algebra teacher in my sophomore year of high school who welcomed the opportunity to help his students as they tried to work through an algebraic equation.

If you were at the blackboard trying to complete and equation and needed help, he would come alongside you and help you use what he already taught you to work through the equation. Sure, he had the answer and could have just completed the equation himself, but he was there to teach you.

Sounds like what God does through the Holy Spirit, doesn't it.

When we approach God for his help, we should have a mind and soul set of expectation, knowing God is there with you, alongside you. In today's parlance, knowing "He's got it."

In God's Words

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Philippians 4:6)

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone." (1 Corinthiansm12:4-6)

In the Word's of Others

"I believe that God has put gifts and talents and ability on the inside of every one of us. When you develop that and you believe in yourself and you believe that you're a person of influence and a person of purpose, I believe you can rise up out of any situation." Joel Osteen

“When the solution is simple, God is answering.” Albert Einstein

“We never know how God answer our prayers, but we can expect that He will get us involved in his plan for the answer. If we are true intercessors, we must be ready to take part in God’s work on behalf of the people for whom we pray.” Corrie ten Boom

In Your Words

When you face challenges in your life, and go before the Lord in prayer, do you ask him to solve your problem or acknowledge he has the answers and wait for his response?

What does it mean for you to pray to God with a spirit of expectancy?

Meditate on the above scriptures and quotes and how you will reconcile in your life a reliance on God supplying answers and you having a role in the solutions.
